CRAIG NORTON
Craig Norton, a self-taught artist from St. Louis, utilizes a ballpoint pen and a stippling technique to create remarkably direct photorealistic faces, which he clothes in wallpaper collage. Norton tackles socio-political issues in his figurative installations such as the Holocaust, genocide, the Civil Rights Movement, and most recently gun violence in America, believing that he can raise awareness through his emotionally wrought imagery. Norton's work can be found in the public collections of the de Young Fine Art Museum in San Francisco, CA, The Holocaust Museum in St. Louis, MO, among others. He was the recipient of the Fountainhead Residency in 2010. Norton currently lives and works in St. Louis, MO.
